Web Design Tip #4 of 7: Create Truly Original Content
Create a Content Strategy to Drive Your Web Design
When setting your web design goals, be sure include a strategy to create a significant amount of original content, both initially and continuously over time. Original content is the key to differentiating your website from all others, attracting traffic and new visitors, and helping convert them into customers. Great content, whether written, graphical, video, or audio, can not only inform your prospects about what you do, but how passionately and convincingly you do it.
Save Time & Improve Search Engine Results by Leveraging Technology
By leveraging today’s powerful content management and blogging systems, it is easier than ever to improve your website’s design by feeding it with a continuous stream of helpful new information. Fresh content is also one of the keys to SEO, I.e., to optimizing your website for search engines by increasing the number of indexed pages (the number of indexed pages on your website and the recency and frequency of updates to your website will affect search engine rankings, among other factors).
Today there are many vehicles for creating online content, including:
- Content management systems
- Blogging software that can be integrated into your website
- Video content that can be posted onto video sharing sites like YouTube, and then imbedded into your website and blog
- Photo sharing websites like Flickr
- Presentation sharing websites like SlideShare
- Podcasts
- Online News Releases
- Downloadable eBooks, white papers, guides, and other documents
